Rockers The Strokes have put split reports to rest after announcing new plans to tour this autumn (11).
Break-up rumours have been rife ever since the band ended a hiatus last year (10) and returned to the studio to record its fourth album, which was released in April (11).
But, bassist Nikolai Fraiture insists he and his bandmates are planning "a very long tour", while working on a follow-up to new record Angles.
He tells RollingStone.com, "We're trying not to lose momentum by taking time off and then having to reboot the whole system."
And guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. tells the publication the band is planning a major U.S. tour after summer dates overseas: "It seems like something is lining itself up, but it's hard to tell right now what exactly we're going to do. We all want to do it, so we're gonna find a way."
