Scottish rockers The View are due to release their new single 'The Clock' on August 27th 2012. The track is taken from their fourth studio album 'Cheeky For A Reason' which was already released on Cooking Vinyl records (Counting Crows, Marilyn Manson, The Prodigy, Reverend and The Makers).
The accompanying music video for the single is rather conceptual. It mainly shows the camera focusing on a close-up of the lead vocalist Kyle Falconer sitting on a high stool singing in a shirt and suit jacket but occasionally cutting to an elderly man sitting in the same place also in a shirt and suit jacket. It's a well-portrayed metaphor with a resonating chorus and a ballad like slowness to the song.
The album has already reached number nine on the UK Album Charts and a rather respectable number one on the UK Independent Album Charts. Whether or not it has achieved the label of Fleetwood Mac's 'Rumours' done by The Clash which was their aim is for you to decide. 'Cheeky For A Reason' seems like it could be set to follow the success of their first album, 'Hats Off to The Buskers', which was released on 1965 Records and reached number one on the UK and Scotland charts as well as becoming Platinum certified and being nominated for a Mercury Prize.
