When it comes to 'The Walking Dead', the fan base can certainly agree on one thing - Gregory (Xander Berkeley) is a weasel. Having left Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) for dead in the season 8 premiere of the AMC zombie apocalyptic series, stealing his car in the process and driving away from the chaotic scene, many wondered just where he'd end up. Now, fans can see that he's made his return to the Hilltop with his tail between his legs, begging for sanctuary from Maggie and the rest of the survivors that are housed there. You can check out the clip below:

From the preview, it's clear that Gregory expects Father Gabriel to be dead, as he instantly lies about his whereabouts, claiming he doesn't know what happened to the survivor. Whilst that could be the case, we last saw Gabriel locked up in a trailer with none other than the villainous Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who pretty much told him he could expect a rough ride from here on out.

Though we'll have to tune into the new episode to discover exactly what happens to Gregory and how he'll be welcomed back into the Hilltop, if at all, we imagine he's going to have to do some mighty grovelling to earn an inch of respect back from anybody there. With Maggie (Lauren Cohan) now seemingly in charge, he'll also have to learn to live under somebody, rather than taking the primary position of power within his community. Somehow, we don't think Gregory's long for this world...

As one of the most-watched television shows around, AMC will be hoping that the millions who have left the franchise behind may return in the near future - especially following recent reports that the 'Stranger Things' season 2 premiere on Netflix has been watched more than 'TWD's 100th episode. Though it's fallen to a five-year low, we don't think the show will give any sign of slowing down any time soon. In fact, it was just a few days ago that AMC's boss said the show could last for 50 more years...
