The rapper released the tracklist via Twitter, along with an image of the album sleeve and on it we can see that it consists of 18 tracks, two of which are collaborations with Daft Punk ('Starboy' and 'I Feel It Coming'). Future also features as a guest on the song 'All I Know', while 'Sidewalks' marks The Weeknd's first collaboration with Kendrick Lamar. 'Stargirl Interlude' features Lana Del Rey, who also provides additional vocals for the song 'Party Monster'.

'Their studio is like a spaceship; there's a lot of gear', he said of Daft Punk in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. 'But the way they make music, the way they explain it, is very cinematic. It's like they're reading a page out of a novel - 'We want to make sure that at the end, it feels like the sun's coming up, and maybe there's a car chase.' They can get technical, but it was interesting how they visualize making music.'

Self-titled lead single 'Starboy' was released on September 22nd and was soon followed by promotional single 'False Alarm', both of which The Weeknd performed on 'Saturday Night Live' in October. 'False Alarm' is also now officially the theme song for WWE's 2016 Survivor Series.

'Starboy' the album is a reflection of how the arrival of fame and fortune can destroy another part of you. He explored his past self in last year's 'Beauty Behind the Madness', which topped the UK and US album charts, and this time explores how his celebrity incarnation (known as Starboy) has taken over. As well as Daft Punk, producers also include Ben Billions, Cirkut, Doc McKinney and Mano.
