Fact: Chance the Rapper, Skepta and The Weeknd are set to headline London's Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park between 7 and 9 July (17). Other performers on the bill include Nas, Rae Sremmurd, Sean Paul, Tyga, and Ty Dolla $ign.

Fact: U2, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chance the Rapper and The Weeknd are set to headline the 2017 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. Lorde, the xx, Travis Scott and Major Lazer are also due to perform. The event runs from 8 to 11 June (17).

Fact: The Weeknd will ring in 2017 with America's number one single after taking Starboy to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. The track also gives Grammy-winning French duo Daft Punk their first American number one. They collaborated on the hit with the Canadian star, who previously peaked with Can't Feel My Face and The Hills.

Fact: The Weeknd will kick start his 2017 Starboy tour in Sweden the day after his 27th birthday. The first date on his Starboy: Legend of the Fall 2017 World Tour will take place at The Globe in Stockholm on 17 February (17).

His 2015 album, Beauty Behind The Madness, is officially the world's most streamed album on Spotify in one year, while he has also set the world record for the most consecutive weeks in the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 by a solo male artist thanks to hits like Can't Feel My Face and The Hills.

Fact: Adele, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd and Little Big Town are set to perform at the upcoming Grammy Awards on 15 February (16). Lamar leads the nominations with 11, closely followed by The Weeknd and Taylor Swift with seven. The ceremony will be broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Fact: R&B star The Weeknd is the proud new owner of a one-of-a-kind 1984 tour jacket worn and decorated by Michael Jackson. The Can't Feel My Face singer was presented with the gift, which was signed by the King of Pop's brothers, The Jacksons, backstage during his two-night tour stop in Brooklyn, New York's Barclays Center last week (ends20Nov15) by venue officials.

Fact: Rapper Nicki Minaj surprised TV viewers over the weekend (10Oct15) by joining The Weeknd for a performance of their new collaboration on U.S. comedy show Saturday Night Live. The R&B star served as the night's musical guest and he introduced Minaj to the stage to debut the official remix to his new track The Hills. They also returned later on in the episode for a rendition of Can't Feel My Face.


5th October 2015

Fact: The Weeknd has scored a third week atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the U.S. as his The Hills keeps Justin Bieber's What Do You Mean? from reclaiming the number one spot. The new chart is heavy with Canadians - five of the top 10 hits are from Bieber and The Weeknd's fellow countrymen. Drake jumps up a spot to make it an all-Canadian top three with Hotline Bling, while The Weeknd's former number one, Can't Feel My Face, falls to four and Shawn Mendes earns his first Hot 100 top 10 with Stitches at nine. Coincidentally, Bieber, The Weeknd, Drake and Mendes all hail from Ontario.

Fact: The Weeknd has become the first artist to land the top three spots on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart in the U.S. The singer's Can't Feel My Face, The Hills and Earned It are the countdown's new top three in descending order. Only Robin Thicke has come close the The Weeknd's feat when he landed two tracks - Blurred Lines and Give It 2 You - in the top three in 2013.

Fact: R&B singer The Weeknd has been recruited as the opening act for six dates on Justin Timberlake's upcoming U.S. tour. The Canadian singer, who has just wrapped his own headlining tour, will kick off The 20/20 Experience tour on Wednesday (06Nov13) in Brooklyn, New York.
