The Wire star Tray Chaney is set to produce and star in a movie about late rapper Mac Dre.

The actor will play Dre's friend Curtis 'Kilo Curt' Nelson and has cast four of his former Tv co-stars in the film, but he has not revealed any further details.

He tells radio host Mr. Peter Parker, "I'm a producer on a MAC Dre biopic. It's a two picture film deal about MAC Dre, his life, his music, how he affected the culture of hip hop and some of the artists."

MAC Dre, real name Andre Hicks, was killed in 2004.
