The X-FILES characters Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are heading back in time to appear in two new young adult novels all about their teenage years.
As the new season of the revamped The X-FILES episodes, featuring Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny as the truth-seeking agents, wraps up in America, two new books in The X-Files Origins series have been announced.
Agent of Chaos and Devil's Advocate will both be set in 1979, and the stories will follow the life-changing events that inspire Scully and Mulder to become FBI agents.
Agent of Chaos will be written by bestselling author Kami Garcia, the co-author of the Beautiful Creatures and Dangerous Creatures novels, while horror novelist and Marvel Comics writer Jonathan Maberry will pen Devil's Advocate, according to EW.com.
Both books will be published simultaneously in January (17).
