Glamour model and former MTV star Tila Tequila has been removed from the UK’s 'Celebrity Big Brother' house after it emerged she had previously praised Hitler on social media. Broadcaster Channel 5 said they had made the decision to remove the 33 year old from the reality show after her ‘unacceptable views’ were brought to their attention.

“Unfortunately, Channel 5 and Endemol did not know about the views and attitudes Tila had expressed in social media postings prior to her involvement in 'Celebrity Big Brother'," a statement from Channel 5 bosses read.

"When they were brought to our attention, she was called to the Diary Room for a discussion with producers and was subsequently removed from the house. The views Tila had expressed, and permitted to remain uncorrected, are totally unacceptable and, accordingly, her continued involvement in the programme was untenable,” the statement added.

In December 2013 Tila had photoshopped a picture of herself standing in front of Auschwitz concentration camp, wearing a SS uniform cap and with a red swastika armband. According to the Daily Mail she had also expressed her admiration for Hitler in a series of now deleted Facebook posts.

In a blog entitled 'Why I sympathise with Hitler Part 1', she described the Nazi leader as a 'good man' who deserved forgiveness. 'He was not a bad person as they have painted him out to be. Not even close!!!'  Tila wrote. 'Hitler was a good man and it takes some f*****g balls for someone to say this out loud in this day and age, especially for a public figure like myself.'

After the 33 year old entered the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house on Thursday evening more than 500 people signed a petition calling for her removal from the show, as reports of her behaviour spread online.

In a statement following her exit, Tila apologised for her past remarks writing, 'Back in 2013 I made a statement about Hitler not being a bad person, and immediately realized soon after that I had made a terrible mistake that would ultimately come back to haunt me.’

'During that time I had been suffering from severe depression, and drug addiction for many years prior to that. I also attempted to commit suicide in 2012, and overdosed on prescription pills. I wanted to die. I felt worthless, and unloved as that pain continued to grow causing me to further spiral out of control.’

'Losing touch of myself, and reality. It was absolutely the lowest point I had ever reached in my life, and today I am truly sorry to everyone that I may have hurt along my self-destructive path. I have made many mistakes that I am definitely not proud about, but I am only a flawed human who is trying my best to be a better person than I was in the past.

'I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible, wreckless, and selfish actions and I hope that everyone can forgive me for the pain that I may have caused. I want to be a good role model for my daughter because I don't want her to go through what I have had to endure,’ Tequila added.
