British Rocker Tim Burgess Is Urging Fans To Give Donations To Help Victims Of The Devastating U.k. Floods As He Prepares To Head To A Hard-hit Area For A Dj Set.
The Charlatans frontman is set to play a special evening at the Hebden Trades Club venue in North Yorkshire, England which was closed over the holidays as heavy rains caused mass flooding in the region.
The venue later opened up to provide free soup, hot drinks and shelter to those affected by the disaster, and bosses announced a series of fundraising shows.
Burgess has now asked fans to give what they can to help the relief efforts as he prepares to head to Hebden to play a DJ set at the Trades Club on 9 January (16).
In a post on Twitter.com, he writes, "I'm DJing at @thetradesclub, Hebden Bridge Saturday January 9th. Let's help them back on their feet after the floods."
Burgess also shared information for those caught up in the flooding, and links to how fans can donate to the relief efforts.
The north of England was devastated by heavy flooding over Christmas, hundreds of residents have been evacuated from their homes and soldiers have been deployed to help in the worst-hit areas.
