Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter have reportedly ''both had other lovers'' since their split.

The former couple, who recently announced they had ''separated amicably'' earlier this year, are said to have started living separate lives more than a year ago and are ''happy with the situation.''

A source said: ''Tim and Helena have been living separate lives for [more than] a year, and since they separated, they have both had other lovers. The separation announcement was made saying they'd split earlier this year, but they have been living apart for much longer.''

The 48-year-old British actress and the 56-year-old American director - who met on the set of 'Planet of the Apes' in 2001 - were spotted with their children, Billy Ray, 11, and Nell, seven, in London on Christmas Day (25.12.14) despite rumours the 'Alice in Wonderland' star is devastated over their split.

But the insider told The New York Post's Page Six: ''Both parties are happy with the situation. It is perfectly amicable.''

Another source recently claimed Tim is in a long-term relationship with production assistant Berenice Percival, 39, who started working for him three years ago.

The 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' director was photographed canoodling with the blonde beauty after a cinema date in Hampstead, London in September 2013, but Helena rubbished rumours he had been unfaithful at the time, saying: ''The pictures were taken whilst they were out and the large group includes family, friends and work colleagues.''
