Vigil is the first single from Lost Domain, Tim Wheeler's debut solo album and his heartfelt and emotional response to the loss of his father George to dementia.
Battling to come to terms with his loss over the course of 11 songs, the record charts his father's rapid decline into illness, his death and the tumultuous effect it had on Tim's life.
Vigil, says Tim, recalls the family gathered around George's bedside at the actual time of his death but despite it being "a really hard time, it was a beautiful time as well, with the closeness of the family. We were glad that we all got to be there and share that time together."
A strong supporter of Tim's first footsteps into music, George stood by as Ash - formed by school friends Tim, Rick McMurray and Mark Hamilton - scored a Number One album before Tim had turned 21, became the youngest act to headline Glastonbury Festival and were presented a coveted Ivor Novello Award for their worldwide hit 'Shining Light.' "He was immensely proud of what I'd achieved" says Tim.
Now, Tim is ready to put the album out there to the world, via Sony Red, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to The Alzheimer's Society, a charity Tim has worked closely with since his father's death.
Tim will play four UK dates in support of the album - details as follows:
November 4th - LONDON, Bush Hall
November 5th - MANCHESTER, Deaf Institute
November 6th - GLASGOW, ABC2
November 7th - BELFAST, Oh Yeah Centre
