Groove Tails is set to star Foxx as a mouse forced to compete as a street dancer to pay off a hefty cheese debt, and now Timbaland has been approached to take care of the score for the family film.

If the beatmaker signs on, he will be reunited with Foxx, who he previously worked with on the Oscar winner's 2009 track I Don't Need It.

Timbaland, who has also crafted hits for the likes of Justin Timberlake, Jay Z, and Beyonce, isn't the first big artist to delve into scoring animated movies.

Pharrell Williams has composed songs for the Despicable Me franchise and was nominated for the Best Original Song Oscar in 2014 for his smash hit Happy, while Timberlake is currently executive producing and writing fresh material for his new film, Trolls.
