Jason Bateman and Tina Fey as squabbling siblings? Already This Is Where I Leave You has us intrigued. But then add Jane Fonda, ‘Girls’ star Adam Driver, Rose Byrne and Connie Britton to the cast and we might have the best ensemble comedy we’ve seen in a long time.

Based on the novel by Jonathan Tropper, This Is Where I Leave You, follows the dysfunctional Altman family (who were originally the Foxman’s) as they’re forced to spend seven days together following the death of their father.

The movie’s trailer has just been released on the web after Fey and Bateman joined Tropper at the first ever Book-Con to present a panel on the film. The author told the excited audience he was now considering bringing movie stars on all his book tours. Adding “I don't get these kinds of crowds.”

In This Is Where I Leave You Bateman plays Judd Altman, who finds his life turned upside down after he discovers his wife is having an affair with his boss. Soon after, Judd’s father dies and he returns home to his troublesome family learning that his father’s last request was that they’d all come together for a week of sitting Shiva.

From the trailer the movie has everything you’d expect from a comedy centring on a mismatched set of siblings. Fights, drinking, heart to hearts, there’s really nothing new here. Still, the all star cast is enough to keep our interest and leave us hoping that the actual movie will offer some more unexpected laughs.

One thing we can get away without mentioning, however, is Jane Fonda’s breasts. Jane, who plays the family’s uninhibited matriarch had some special bionic cleavage created for the role which the actress apparently had a lot of fun with. “Jane said, ‘I want to see the top prosthetician in L.A. and get really, really big boobs,” director Shawn Levy told Book-con. “To Jane, it was like wearing a chest plate. She would, like, flash passing-by cars!”

This Is Where I Leave You comes to US theatres on September 12th. Click here to view the full trailer.
