Tina Fey is to star in and produce an untitled witch movie.

The 'Mean Girls' actress is in early development with Disney on a supernatural-themed movie, but it will not be a sequel to the 1993 film 'Hocus Pocus' despite rumours, Deadline reports.

The film, which is currently known as 'Untitled Witch Project', will be produced by Fey and 'Cinderella' producer Allison Shearmur, with Fey also attached to star.

Although the movie will be focused on witchcraft it is said to be completely unrelated to the Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy starring film of the 90s, although it was recently reported that Fey would produce a sequel under her Little Stranger banner.

No 'Hocus Pocus 2' project is thought to be in the works at the moment, despite the original film - which followed a family of witches known as the Sanderson sisters - developing a cult following since it's release over two decades ago.

Meanwhile, Fey is currently in production on her Universal comedy 'The Nest', in which she and her former 'Saturday Night Live' colleague Amy Poehler star as two grown-up sisters who return to their family home to host their final wild party before their parents put the house on the market.
