Remini has revealed very little about her break from the Church of Scientology since her decision was announced over three weeks ago. It is believed the former King of Queens star left the church due to a number of disagreements with the Scientologists leader, David Miscavige. According to some reports, there has been tension between Remini and Miscavige since Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding in 2006 (where Remini allegedly asked the whereabouts of Miscavige's wife).

Inception Review

Essential
Nolan pulls us into another fiendishly entertaining scenario, engaging our brains while taking us on a thrilling ride. And while the mind-bending story might not be as cerebral as it seems, it completely envelops us.

Cobb (DiCaprio) invades people's dreams for a living, stealing ideas with the help of his sidekick Arthur (Gordon-Levitt). But a new client (Watanabe) wants him to try inception instead: implanting an idea in the mind of media heir Fischer (Murphy). So Cobb hires a new architect (Page) and two other skilled experts (Hardy and Rao) to create an elaborately layered dreamworld for the reverse heist. The problem is that Cobb's wife (Cotillard) is lurking in this alternate reality and could bring the whole plan crashing down around them.

Sliver Review

Weak
New Yorkers obsess over real estate, and they're quick to notice when interesting apartments feature prominently in movies, especially thrillers. There's a direct line that runs from Rosemary's Baby (fabulous pre-war woodwork!) through Single White Female (so much square footage on the Upper West Side!) to Sliver (small rooms but a remarkably advanced video surveillance system). Come to think of it, Sliver was originally written as a novel by Rosemary's Baby author Ira Levin.

His writing partner was the gleefully vulgar Joe Eszterhas, who clearly timed this dirty little movie to cash in on the post-Basic Instinct Sharon Stone's newly notorious nether regions (and reissued on DVD to cash in on Basic Instinct 2). A credible actress (see Casino), Stone has always seemed willing to sabotage her own reputation by pandering to our, um, basic instincts, especially when the heavy-breathing Eszterhas is pulling the strings. Remember, this is the guy who wrote Showgirls.

Born On The Fourth Of July Review

OK
Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July is not an adaptation of the memoir by Vietnam veteran Ron Kovic, though that's what the credits indicate. It's an indulgent style showcase for Stone, who, with his longtime cinematographer Robert Richardson, employs every act of film trickery imaginable that doesn't involve CGI effects.

Tom Cruise, in a role that was a brave departure for him in 1989, plays Kovic in his adult years. Kovic grows up as a child of the American dream in 1950s Long Island. He's a God-fearing, baseball-hitting, patriotic lad who lives in an environment full of parades and malt shops. As a high school senior, young Ron doesn't think twice about signing up for the Marines, believing that he's doing the right thing for his country.
