The eighteenth book of Lee Child's Jack Reacher series, released in 2013, is finally set to hit theaters four years after the first movie. For 'Jack Reacher: Never Go Back' (also known as 'Jack Reacher: Never Look Back'), Edward Zwick ('The Last Samurai', 'Love & Other Drugs') has taken over from Christopher McQuarrie as director, with a screenplay co-written by Richard Wenk ('The Equalizer') and Marshall Herskovitz ('Nashville').

Reacher is just as tenacious and lawless as ever as he sets out on another mission four years after he solved a brutal murder case with the police. Being a former U.S. Army Military Police Corps officer himself, he's never exactly been fond of federal law enforcement, and nothing has changed this time round by the look of the new trailer.

After tipping off his former unit about a corrupt cop (who fails to arrest him for beating up a bunch of guys who were following him), an old friend named Major Susan Turner is desperate for him to return to his old headquarters in Washington, DC. However, upon his arrival, he finds that she's been arrested for espionage and he himself is being framed for a murder which took place 16 years ago. There's something big going on right in their midst, and they have to find out what it is before they're both locked up for good.

Cobie Smulders ('How I Met Your Mother') is the new leading lady, with Rosamund Pike having starred in the first movie, and 'Jack Reacher 2' also stars Robert Knepper and Patrick Heusinger.

'Jack Reacher: Never Go Back' is set to be released in the US on October 21st 2016.
