British Olympic diver Tom Daley recently made the brave decision to announce he was in a relationship with another man via a YouTube video.

However, in the short clip the 19 year-old didn't reveal who the gentleman he referring to was.

E!News reports, sources told the gossip site that Daley has been dating an Academy Award winning screenwriter named Dustin Lance Black.

People may not recognise the name but they will definitely know his films, the 39 year-old received an Oscar for 'Best Original Screenplay' for the biographical film 'Milk', starring Sean Penn as gay rights activist and politician Harvey Milk (Penn also collected an Oscar).

He also penned the screenplay for the biographical drama film 'J. Edgar', starring Leonardo Dicaprio as FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, it examines his professional and personal life as he was an alleged closet homosexual.

The pair were first spotted together back in October stopping off for a quick bite to eat at The Coffee Bean in Hollywood.

Daley announced on Monday (Dec 2nd), "Come spring, this year, my life changed. Massively. When I met someone and it made me feel so happy, so safe and everything just feels great. That someone is a guy."

He continued, "It did take me by surprise a little bit. It was always in the back of my head that it could happen, but it wasn't until the spring of this year that something clicked. It felt right. Like I said, my whole world just changed right there and then."

The teenager, who won a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games, thanked his fans for the support on Facebook as he posted, "I'd just like to say a massive thanks for all the support yesterday...it truly was overwhelming."
