More performers are to be announced in due course, but as well as a series of musical performances, the evening will also include a gala dinner and a celebrity auction to further raise money for the charity's emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery programs.

Tom Petty released his first album with The Heartbreakers in 1976 and their last work together was 2014's 'Hypnotic Eye'. This year, however, he joined his new band Mudcrutch with the release of their second album '2'. The superstar has been honoured by MusicCares 'in celebration of his extraordinary creative accomplishments and significant charitable work', and follows a long line of legends who have been named as MusiCares Person Of The Year including Tony Bennett, Bono, Phil Collins, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Brian Wilson.

The concert will take place on February 10th 2017.
