Tori Spelling has announced that she’s expecting her fifth baby, having fallen pregnant at the age of 43.

Revealing that she and her husband Dean McDermott are expecting another little one, the former reality TV star told People: “It was a total surprise. But we always wanted a big family. I’m really excited.”

The couple are already parents to Liam (9), Stella (8), Hattie (5) and Finn (4), with McDermott already a father to 18 year old son Jack from a previous marriage.

Tori Spelling is reportedly being sued by American Express over unpaid credit bills totalling nearly $38,000, causing her husband Dean McDermott to persuade her to file for bankruptcy.

The 42 year old actress and sometime reality TV star is said to owe a sum of $37,981.97 on her AmEx card, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ. Spelling attempted to pay some of that back on June 26th last year, but the payment bounced and now American Express is demanding full payment of, plus interest on, the remaining balance.

As a result, RadarOnline.com has suggested that McDermott, her husband of nine years and the father of her four children, is trying to persuade his wife to file for bankruptcy in face of this latest development.

In True Tori, Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott attempt to bring the viewer an experience unlike any other reality television show in that the glitzy embellishments of their celebrity lifestyle is cast to one side in favour of a grittier, more relatable look at one family's trials and traumas.

Having premiered in April this year, the Lifestyle docu-series began three weeks into the aftermath of McDermott's adulterous affair whilst he films the first season of cooking reality series Chopped Canada in Toronto. Things just veered from scandalous to troubling on the second episode of True Tori. In the episode, which aired Tuesday night on Lifetime, Dea McDermott had the floor to explain why he cheated. We’ve already had glimpses of McDermott’s issues – in January, he voluntarily entered rehab to seek treatment for his alleged sex addiction, after his infidelity with Emily Goodhand came to light a month earlier. This week (or at during the taping of True Tori) anyway, he finally went into detail about the slipup and what brought him there. Here's the play-by-play.

"I haven't dealt with any of it yet," Tori confesses at the start of Tuesday's show, before she admitted, talking over the couple’s marital problems with a single-dad friend. "All my friends have an opinion ... but at the end of the day I have to do what's right for my children."

Tori Spelling’s new lifetime show debuted last night after months of promotion. For Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott that also meant months of airing unpleasant details about their marriage and personal life. It worked. True Tori opened on Lifetime to an audience of 1.2 million viewers, according to THR. The story  of McDermott’s infamous infidelity picked up almost immediately in the premiere episode. Spelling recalled for the cameras how McDermott initially tried to lie about cheating on her.

The drama has only begun on True Tori.

 “He told me, ‘Nothing happened.’ Then he was looking at me and I noticed that his right eyebrow was shaking up and down. I said, ‘Why is your eyebrow shaking?’ Are you lying? And he said no.”

The actor and reality television show star, who appeared alongside his wife and children in Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, has not disclosed why he has headed for treatment but the decision seems to have been made in the midst of allegations that McDermott cheated on his wife of seven years.

Tory Spelling is in the rough – more specifically, her marriage is in the rough, after it was revealed that husband of seven years Dean McDermott had cheated on her. At least that’s the story according to Us Weekly, who first broke the news. According to the gossip mag, the “incident” occurred earlier in December, when McDermott was hosting Chopped Canada in Toronto. After the show, 40-year-old McDermott invited Emily Goodhand, a new acquaintance he had met that day, to his room at the Fairmont Royal Park Hotel, where they had sex.

If there is trouble at the McDermott household, they aren't letting it ruin Christmas.

"He told me he and Tori had a sexless marriage," Goodhand, 28, said for Us Weekly. "I believed him."

Tori Spelling recently spoke to People about her and husband Dean McDermott's tightening of their finances, leading some to suggest that the two may have let their earnings run dry.

She discussed how her spending habits have changed dramatically, explaining that she is nothing like her spendthrift self of old. The magazine also stated that Dean had to forego a vasectomy procedure, owing to their ongoing financial difficulties, however McDermott has since come forward to state that the pair are not in any kind of financial trouble.

"Right now things are going well. I have several exciting projects in the works," he explained to Us Weekly. "Could we afford a vasectomy? Probably. Was it a tougher time for us financially? Yeah, for sure. That's just the truth of it—it's the nature of this business."

"Tori's book (Spelling It Like It Is) just launched this week and things are good." Books with punny titles aside, show business isn’t what it used to be. Even with a reality show on air, it’s possible for the family to be struggling, especially if the endorsement deals aren’t quite rolling in. This is all just speculation, of course, and McDermott remains unflinchingly optimistic.

So you thought you just saw Tori Spelling stranded on the sidewalk, right? Well, it was probably her. The mother-of-four found herself in a sticky situation this week when her car started leaking gas before eventually packing in during a family road trip!

"4 kids. 1 dog. 1 car leaking gas broken down on the side of the road= not a great road trip," Spelling posted to Twitter on Wednesday (February 6, 2013), along with a photo of herself with kids Liam, 5, Stella, 4, Hattie, 1, and new baby Finn, who was born in August. It's not clear whether husband Dean McDermott was along for the road trip, though it's likely he was the one holding the camera. The snap is actually one of those classic family photos, with Tori pulling one of those "I've had it," faces which is mimicked by daughter Stella. Young Liam just looks bored with the whole situation and wants to get back into a moving vehicle as soon as possible, while baby Hattie doesn't really care what happens.

The kids looked much happier during their trip to the dentist earlier this week, which father Dean documented on his blog. "The kids go to my dentist, who happens to be the nicest guy in the world. The kids took to him in a heartbeat. He had them asking questions, checking out equipment and generally excited for what was to come," he said.

Doing anything with multiple children requires the planning, precision and organisational skills that only Monica Gellar has, and even she crumbled during an afternoon with triplets. So, to see Tori Spelling stranded with four kids and a dog, we have nothing but compassion for her.

It's not even as if she's got kids old enough to look after the younger ones. Oh no, they're all 5 and younger: Liam aged 5, Stella, 4, Hattie, 1, and new baby Finn, who is only 6 months old. All but little Hattie had appropriate expressions on their faces in a photo Spelling posted on Twitter and Instagram of the event. Not only did Spelling herself look decidedly fed up, the rest of the troupe didn't seem particularly chipper. The dog was somewhat preoccupied though.

Tori Spelling is back in hospital, three weeks after giving birth to her fourth child. Unfortunately for the television star, the actress has suffered complications from her C-section.

The delivery of son Finn Davey – on August 30, 2012 – was Spelling’s fourth caesarean section and her second within a year. Daughter Hattie arrived last October, also by caesarean. A representative for the star told People magazine this week, “Tori underwent emergency surgery over the weekend due to complications from her c-section…She remains in the hospital and is resting comfortably”. The Craft Wars host, 39, and husband Dean McDermott are also parents to daughter Stella 4, and Liam, 5, as well as Jack, McDermott’s 13-year-old son from a previous marriage. Experts say that it’s not uncommon for women to have multiple C-sections, though that the procedure becomes more dangerous as the frequency of its increases. Dr Manny Alvarez, senior managing health editor of FoxNews.com, explained, “If there are short intervals in between, it can make the healing process more difficult”.

Around 30 per cent of new-borns in the United States are delivered by caesarean section. This means around 1.2 million C-sections are performed annually.

Tori Spelling has undergone an emergency surgical procedure, following the birth of her fourth child. The Press Association report that the surgery was necessary, owing to complications following Finn Davey's birth on August 30, 2012. The former Beverly Hills actress gave birth via caesarean section and the operation was necessary due to complications that have arisen from this. Her spokesman confirmed "Tori underwent emergency surgery over the weekend due to complications from her c-section."

The 39 year-old is said to be recovering well from the procedure; her rep said that she's "resting comfortably." Finn Davey is Tori Spellings baby number four. Tori and her husband Dean McDermott already have one son together, Liam, who's five and two daughters, Stella, aged four and Hattie, aged 10 months. Dean also has a teenage son from a previous marriage. The entire family is the subject of the Oxygen reality show, Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.

Whilst she was pregnant, Tori appeared on the Today show, alongside Sarah Palin. Palin complemented Tori on her approach to life, saying "you're a real good example, good inspiration for others, Tori; accomplishing so much, you're having fun, you're living life vibrantly." Tori cheekily asked Sarah if she was planning any more children, but she simply looked flustered and said "ah, no - the grandkids will come next."
