The 30 Rock star recently renewed his comedy career with appearances on U.S. TV show Saturday Night Live and at the Emmy Awards, and will now tour venues across the U.S. next year (16).

The Tracy Morgan: Picking Up the Pieces tour is set to begin on 5 February in Hammond, Indiana and conclude in Westhampton Beach, New York on 28 May.

The star confirmed the news on Twitter.com, writing, "Heading back out on the road to bring the funny. Come see me."

Morgan is resuming his career after a truck crashed into the back of a van he was travelling in on the New Jersey Turnpike in June, 2014. His friend, comedian James 'Jimmy MACk' MCNair, was killed in the crash, and Morgan was left with a broken leg, a broken nose, and several broken ribs.

He returned to the comedy circuit last month (Sep15) when he made a triumphant appearance at the Emmy Awards.
