Sting's Wife Trudie Styler Is Stepping Behind The Camera To Direct Her First Feature Film Later This Month (Oct15).
The 61 year old will produce and direct the film adaptation of James St. James' Freak Show, which will star Bette Midler, AnnaSophia Robb, Ian Nelson and Lorraine Toussaint.
Producers are still searching for a lead actor, but the film is currently in pre-production and is set to begin shooting later this month. It will centre on the character Billy Bloom, a cross-dressing teenager who decides to run for Homecoming Queen at a conservative high school.
Styler made her directorial debut with the documentary The Sweatbox in 2002 and she also took charge of the short film Wait in 2005. She also has producer credits on 20 film, including Black Nativity, Filth, Moon, Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
