Latitude Festival 2017 is nearly upon us! The line-up promises great sets from some great established names in the music business, with The 1975, Mumford & Sons and Fleet Foxes headlining and the likes of Fatboy Slim, Placebo, Two Door Cinema Club and Goldfrapp also on the bill.

However, Latitude does have an excellent reputation for boldness in selecting names that are a bit off the beaten track, and of promoting new talent to prestigious slots on the line-up.

So, here are ten recommendations of new and critically acclaimed acts off the beaten path to see at Latitude 2017!

Reading & Leeds Festival 2015's ever expanding line-up continues to grow with yet more acts announced to appear across the many stages; some of which are well-established, and some up-and-coming, but all definitely worth experiencing this year.

Kicking off proceedings, Mariachi el Bronx will be bringing a little Mexican spirit to the UK festival - which will be just as well if the English weather lets us down come August. They'll be joining headliners Metallica, Mumford & Sons and The Libertines, plus many more top billing artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Alt J and Bring Me The Horizon.

Forecastle Completes 2015 Line-Up With The War On Drugs And Mariachi El Bronx

Forecastle Festival has finally completed its 2015 line-up and announced the full day-by-day schedule for the coming event, which is set to hit Louisville, Kentucky yet again in July. Plus, you'll very soon be able to purchase single day tickets for each day.

Joining the stellar line-up headlined by the already announced Sam Smith, locals My Morning Jacket and Widespread Panic are The War On Drugs, ZZ Ward, Robert DeLong and Mariachi el Bronx among a handful of others. With such talent expected every day between July 17th and 19th, 2015 is shaping up to be an important year for Forecastle.

David Lynch Says 'Twin Peaks Season 3' Has Hit "Complications"

Time to stop jumping around like idiots, Twin Peaks fans. After the remarkable announcement that a third season of the show could premiere on Showtime in 2016 after 25 years off the air. Though there was no official statement, fans had assumed original creator David Lynch would return to direct, though the man himself doubted that at an exhibition in Australia this week.

"I'm not sure at this point if it's happening .We are still working on a contract," he said, "But I love the world of Twin Peaks, and I love those characters. I think it will be very special to go back into that world."

Kyle MacLachlan has been confirmed to return as Special Agent Dale Cooper in the Twin Peaks reboot. The actor appeared at Monday's Showtime panel at the Television Critics Association press tour - "You look like you need a damn fine cup of coffee", he said, sauntering on-stage in character.

Showtime president David Nevins fleshed out the new series for the gathered journalists, "He'll be leading the show, and there'll be more cast coming on as we roll through."

Kyle MacLachlan, the American actor best known for playing Detective Dale Cooper in Twin Peaks, has all but confirmed he will be reprising his role for the recently announced season 3.

Recently competing in the Alfred Dunhill Links golf tournament, MacLachlan was asked by Sky Sports of his future projects, remaining coy and speaking only of his role in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Twin Peaks is returning for season 3, with original creators David Lynch and Mark Frost creating a new nine-episode season for Showtime. The original show aired between 1990-1991 and is considered one of the finest TV shows of all time – a true modern classic.

The new episodes will go into production in 2015, according to Deadline, and will premiere in 2016 to mark the show’s 25th anniversary. David Lynch is to release 90 minutes of deleted material for the special Blu-ray edition of the classic mystery drama Twin Peaks. The new disc, Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery - which also includes the spin-off feature film Fire Walk With Me - will be released on July 29.

Twin Peaks, created by Lynch and Mark Frost, was a surreal crime thriller set in a picturesque American town ripped apart by the murder of girl next door Laura Palmer, who was found dead, wrapped in plastic and left on a riverbank.
