The 50-year-old singer first sparked rumours she was expecting in April (16), when she postponed her Unbreakable World Tour to concentrate on "planning" a family with husband Wissam Al Mana.

Janet officially revealed the happy news earlier this week (beg10Oct16), posing for a pregnancy portrait for People magazine.

Actor and director Tyler, who welcomed his first child with partner Gelila Bekele in 2014, told Entertainment Tonight he was very happy for his friend to finally become a mother.

"She's just always been so extremely private and is laying low, and I just wish her all the best," he shared. "I'm excited for her, because I know what that means."

However, the Gone Girl star doesn't have too much parenting advice to dish out to Janet. "There's nothing people can tell you to prepare for it. It is what it is," Tyler explained. "I think that is going to give her a sense of fulfilment that she's never had before."

In the photoshoot for People, Janet is seen standing on the beach as she cradles her growing bump while wearing a tight white dress under a beige jacket. She told the magazine in an accompanying interview, "We thank God for our blessing."

Janet's sibling Jermaine Jackson previously revealed the entire family is delighted by news of the impending addition to their clan.

"My sister Janet is my baby. She is fine but she’s having a baby," he smiled to Us Weekly. "A baby having a baby. We look at her like our little baby. And now she’s grown up and she’s having a baby. I’m proud to be an uncle and I can’t wait to see how this baby is going to look.

"She’ll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict. I tell her, 'If you need any parenting skills or any baby skills, let me know because I’m the best diaper changer there is on this planet, still to this day'."
