Vampire Weekend are already preparing for their third album.

Although the group only released second LP 'Contra' in January, they can't wait to get started on a follow-up record, even though they are unsure what musical direction to take their music in next.

Frontman Ezra Koenig said: "We've all started to think quite seriously about the next album. We need to take more time, but we've started to have these conversations. It's something I think about every day and that's true of all the guys.

"It's exciting to think where we're going to head next because it's still mysterious."

The singer also admitted he only includes songs on his albums if he feels they have the potential to be released as singles.

Ezra said: "I always thought that 'Holiday', which came out this summer, would be a single. It might sound cocky but we have the belief that if a song is good enough on the album, it's good enough to be a single."
