The Brown Eyed Girl hitmaker will be given a special artwork featuring a sign for Hyndford Street in his native Belfast, Northern Ireland by local officials to mark his milestone on 31 August (15).

The gift is a nod to his famous song On Hyndford Street, which was inspired by the road where Morrison lived as a young boy.

Arder Carson, Lord Mayor of Belfast, says, "It's our pleasure to make this donation in honour of one the city's most famous and successful sons. Van is a household name, not just here in Belfast, but across the world. It is a special year for Van and I know his fans will be looking forward to joining in the birthday celebrations."
