Fact: Vince Gill opened the 50th annual CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee by performing Merle Haggard's Mama Tried with the late country icon's son Ben.
Fact: Country star Vince Gill has been honoured with two separate awards in his home state of Oklahoma for his career and philanthropic achievements. The Grammy-winning singer unveiled a bronze statue of himself at his alma mater, Northwest Classen High School, and he was where he helped also honoured by officials at the Knights of Columbus Council, who presented him with the the 2014 John F. Kennedy Award for Community Service.
Fact: Sting and Vince Gill are teaming in New York later this month (Sep11) to record an episode of Cmt Crossroads. During the taping, the two stars will perform their own hits and duet on classic tracks they've recorded.
