Vivienne Westwood Designs Miss Piggy's Wedding Dress, And It's Fabulous

Vivienne Westwood has designed a custom wedding dress of porcine proportions for Miss Piggy. The star of The Muppets will wear the stunning white gown when she finally weds the love of her life, Kermit the Frog, at the iconic Tower of London in the upcoming movie.

The British designer was commissioned to create a unique gown in a romantic style fitting for the high-maintenance diva. Westwood and her team certainly excelled on the brief, designing an extravagant Long Ivory Court wedding gown, with corset detailing and paillettes made from recycled plastic bottles, and accessorised with an elegant ivory tulle veil.

And the bride? Well she's more excited than anyone to be sporting an exclusive piece of Westwood couture. "Vivienne Westwood is fabulous - just like moi," said Miss Piggy, via The Telegraph. "When I asked her to design this wedding dress for moi's new movie, Muppets Most Wanted, she was thrilled and I was thrilled. The only one a bit 'iffy' about it was the Frog."

Westwood has also apparently designed a couture Harris Tweed houndstooth check coat and matching beret worn to in a scene set at Tower of London as well as long silver hand-embroidered floral lace gown for a very special number in the film.

The gossip magazines may be crowding in to catch a scoop on the pig-meets-frog wedding, which is sure to be the event of the decade. However, Miss P is not letting anything slip: "You'll have to see the movie to find out," she teased.

Filmed at London's Pinewood Studios, Muppets Most Wanted follows Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal and friends as they bask in the glow of their successful theatre tour. Things are peachy for the team until Kermit's evil doppelganger Constantine and his sneaky sidekick steal priceless jewels and the real Kermit becomes embroiled in a potentially career-destroying jewellery heist.

The Muppets gang are joined by an all-star cast for their globe-trotting excursion into the criminal underworld, including Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, P Diddy, Lady Gaga, Christoph Waltz and Ty Burrell.

The Muppets Most Wanted will be released on the 21st March in the US and on the 28th March in the UK.
