The 'Haven't Met You Yet' hitmaker has revealed that David Foster, who has worked with the likes of Whitney Houston and Celine Dion, told him he would be happy to produce a record for him if he was to pay $100,000 a track.

He said: ''[David told me,] 'You will never be signed to my label, I will never produce you. You are talented but I see no record sales for this genre of music. To dismiss me, [Foster] said, 'For $100,000 a track, I will produce on spec a record for you, and because I'm an executive of Warner Bros they'll get first right of refusal. And then he pushed me out the door thinking he would never see me again.

Nick Gordon has been found legally responsible in the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. Bobbi Kristina died in July 2015, at the age of 22, after spending six months in a medically-induced coma after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub.

Gordon failed to turn up on Friday for his scheduled hearing in the wrongful death lawsuit filed by Brown's estate last year. According to People magazine, because of Gordon’s failure to attend Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford said that anything alleged by the plaintiff is now admitted through omission.

Bobby Brown believes that he and his ex-wife Whitney Houston failed their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, saying that both of them could have “been better” in a new interview nearly one year after his daughter’s tragic passing.

Bobbi Kristina Brown died in July 2015 at the age of 22, having never woken up from a coma since January 31st when she was found unresponsive and unconscious in her bathtub. The Fulton County Medical Examiner later found marijuana, alcohol, sedatives, anti-anxiety medications, morphine and what was described as a “cocaine-related substance” after a toxicology test.

The estate of Whitney Houston has cancelled a planned duet between Christina Aguilera and a hologram of the late singer. Footage of the duet briefly leaked online on Thursday (May 19th) but the performance, which was set for ‘The Voice’s’ season 10 finale next week, has now been axed after Houston’s estate decided the hologram was ‘not ready to air’.

More than half a year since her death, Nick Gordon has opened up about the passing of his late girlfriend Bobbi Kristina Brown – and spoke about her drug use leading up to the fateful bathtub incident in January last year.

In an episode of ‘Dr. Phil’ due to be broadcast later this week, Gordon revealed to the host how Bobbi Kristina’s life seemed to spiral downwards after the death of her mother, Whitney Houston, three years previously, and that her use of drugs “got really bad” from that point onwards.

Some members of Bobbi Kristina Brown’s extended family have been banned from visiting her in her hospice. An unknown number of relatives on her father Bobby Brown’s side have been barred from seeing her in what is suspected to be her final days. Their ban follows reports a relative attempted to hawk a photograph of 22-year-old Bobbi, who is currently in a comatose state, to a number of media outlets.

She revealed vague details of Brown's condition and thanked fans for their support and well wishes during this difficult time.

Family, friends and members of the public gathered in Atlanta last night, (February 9th), at a candlelight vigil to pray for Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of late singer Whitney Houston. Brown has been in a medically induced coma for 11 days now and is fighting for her life after being found unresponsive in her bathtub.

Hundreds of people gathered at the Amphitheater in Atlanta lighting a candle for the 21 year old and praying for a miracle in her recovery. According to People magazine, Tommy Brown spoke on behalf of Brown family and told the gatherers, ”I know she thanks all of y'all. Continue to pray for us. Remember when you wake up we should all pray for each other."

Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of the late singer Whitney Houston, has been found unconscious in a bathtub at her home in Atlanta. Brown was immediately rushed to hospital and her condition is unknown although reports suggest Brown is breathing. A complaint has been filed by former LAPD SWAT sergeant Brian Weir, which alleges, that one of his former colleagues, Detective Sergeant Terry Nutall, made inappropriate comments about Whitney Houston's dead body.

Houston was found on February 11th last year in her bathtub at the Beverly Hills Hilton. It seems when her body was found, she was covered with a sheet which Nutall, responding to the incident, removed in order to make comments about her appearance. The 48-year-old singer was found submerged in her hotel room bathtub, the L.A. Coroner later ruled she had died of accidental drowning with cocaine use and heart disease listed as contributing factors.

A rather disturbing story has emerged regarding Whitney Houston, 1 year and 7 month after the singer died in a bathtub at The Beverly Hilton hotel in 2012. It is alleged that a police officer who was called to the hotel looked at her naked corpse and made inappropriate remarks.

Bobbi Kristina, the daughter of Whitney Houston, announced she is engaged to Nick Gordon. The 20-year-old announced the engagement via Facebook but emphasised she and Gordon are not related.

Gordon was, according to TMZ, considered and treated by Houston like a son. Gordon is the son of an unnamed friend of Houston and her ex-husband Bobby Brown's. The report in TMZ suggests Gordon's mother was unable to take care of him and he moved in with Houston in 2002.

For one unnamed woman, the urge to sing Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ was just too strong, and it was ‘too strong’ many times in a row, as she refused to relent, and gave multiple renditions to, we can only imagine, an increasingly annoyed cabin. The passengers weren’t the only ones to find it distracting, though. In fact, a plane is probably the one place on (on? debate) earth you can’t really mess about. It’s sort of a rule. She was handcuffed and removed from the flight by air marshals after it was forced to divert to Kansas City Airport. Spokesman Joe McBride said: "The woman was being disruptive and was removed from the plane for interfering with the flight crew. There was a federal air marshal on the aircraft, who subdued the woman and put her in cuffs and removed her from the plane."

Ace Showbiz reports that one of these fans, an unemployed Army vet wrote nearly 80 letters to Whitney, professing his love to her. He also wrote 16 letters to the singer’s family. When he received no response, he threatened her with going public with his love for her, either in the National Enquirer or on the Phil Donahue Show.’ The FBI met with him in June 1988 and he agreed not to take any action, for fear of harming her reputation.

Whitney Houston FBI files have been released by the American government service in compliance with the Freedom Of Information Act.

The FBI are known for their surveillance of many top stars, and Houston was evidently no different, with USA Today reporting that a staggering 128 pages worth of dossier had been released regarding the late singer, who passed away in her hotel room on the eve of the 2012 Grammys. The documents surround a suspected extortion case dating back to 1992 that eventually closed without prosecution. The issue surrounded a letter sent to the New Jersey offices of the star, from a woman who claimed that, unless she was paid $100,000, she would reveal details about the singer’s private life. It wasn’t claimed specifically what those details were, but the sender did claim to have intimate details of Houston’s romantic relationships.

We look forward to the day when a person's sexual orientation is no longer cause for a headline, but equally will never fail to praise those who have the courage to be honest about their life. Music mogul, record legend, Clive Davis, who is responsible for the discovery of pop-music greats from Whitney Houston to Alicia Keys, has admitted to being bisexual in his newest memoir as well as in a new interview with Katie Couric, ABC news reports. 

Having been married and divorced twice, the revelation that Davis has had relationships with men will come as something of a surprise to many, but Davis hopes to encourage a culture of openness and great understanding regarding bisexuality, as it seems he feels many people don't think it "exists". "I'm not lying," Davis said. "[Bisexuality] does exist. For over 50 years I never had sex with a male. It wasn't repressed. I had very good sexual relationships with women." 

But, he continues, after his first drunken sexual experience with a man "I opened myself up to the possibility that I could have a relationship with a man as well as the two that I had with a woman." While he never felt shame for his bisexuality, he admits to being a little confused: "I felt puzzled. The subject of bisexuality really needs much more discussion. It's a status that does exist."

We will, of course, always have Whitney’s music but now, Madame Tussauds have commissioned and created not just one, but four life-like models of the singer, at different stages of her career, to be placed in different Madame Tussauds locations across the USA. Houston’s manager (and sister-in-law) Pat Houston told People magazine “We were extremely honored when Madame Tussauds approached us about doing four figures of Whitney from different points in her 30-year career.”

LL Cool JJ isn’t a heartless man by any stretch, but even he’s admitted that presenting the 2013 Grammy Awards is going to be much more enjoyable than it was for him last year.

The rapper earned plaudits for presenting the Grammys in 2012, but his task had changed drastically on the eve of the show, after it was discovered that Whitney Houston had died in her hotel room. The show was hastily changed, turning into a much more somber tribute to the fallen star. "It made the event bittersweet, and there was a whole cloud of sorrow on it," 45-year-old – whose real name is James Todd Smith – said to USA Today. "But at the same time, I was glad it went the way it went. We were able to pay respect to Whitney and her family, and at the same time give all of those deserving artists an opportunity to shine."

This year promises to be far more upbeat, though not everyone’s looking forward to the event this coming Sunday (February 10, 2013). There are the usual rumblings that hip-hop has been under-represented once again across the categories. It’s something LL Cool J understands, but he also pointed out "Every person in every genre is always going to want their genre to be represented. That's the nature of the beast. I'd like to see more hip-hop, but you could make an argument for more of everything. The Grammys have made a huge statement by taking a hip-hop icon and making him their host. So I think they're embracing hip-hop culture." The man himself speaks as a rap star who successfully managed to win a Grammy of course. Twice in fact.

Bobbi Kristina Brown has slammed her grandmother’s new book – a memoir of Bobbi Kristina’s late mother, Whitney Houston. Whitney Houston passed away last year, on the eve of the Grammy Awards. Her life and death were mired in controversy over her drug use. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, she was one of the biggest stars on the planet; her vocal talent was immense and her albums sold millions. Whitney’s fall from grace was well documented and many blamed her then-husband Bobby Brown for her downfall.

In the book, entitled ‘Remembering Whitney: My Story of Love, Loss and the Night the Music Stopped,’ Cissy Houston explains that she does not blame Bobby Brown for her daughter’s drug use, though she claims that he was not exactly a good influence on Whitney’s life. It’s unclear which elements of the book Bobbi Kristina is opposed to but she made it clear to her Twitter followers that she’s not happy about Cissy’s book being published.

Bobbi Kristina has criticised Cissy Houston’s revealing memoir and has appealed to her fans to boycott the book. On her Twitter page, she posted a message to say that she and her boyfriend had nothing to do with the memoir, entitled ‘Remembering Whitney.’

Cissy has managed to gain a great deal of publicity for the book, appearing on Oprah recently, along with Whitney’s brother Michael Houston, who admitted that it was him that introduced Whitney to cocaine. In the book, Cissy reveals that she doesn’t blame Whitney’s ex husband Bobby Brown for her getting involved in drugs, though she does admit that she doesn’t consider Bobby to have been a good influence on Whitney’s life. It’s unclear which elements of Cissy’s memoirs that Bobbi Kristina objects to but she made it clear that she does not agree with some elements of the book.

When Whitney Houston’s descent into drug addiction was clearly causing her career to falter, many pointed the finger of blame at her then-husband Bobby Brown. That finger-pointing continued for many years and was never more vociferous than when Whitney died last year, on the eve of the Grammy Awards, alone in a hotel bathtub, with traces of cocaine in her blood stream.

Recently though, her mother, Cissy Houston publicly stated that she did not blame Bobby for Whitney’s drug problem. Now, Whitney’s brother Michael Houston has confessed that it was in fact him that introduced his sister to cocaine. Talking to Oprah Winfrey, with Cissy by his side, Michael confessed his guilt. “I feel responsible for her. I always have. I just felt like I should have taken better care of her,” said Michael. After some probing from Oprah, Michael admitted to introducing Whitney to cocaine, before she even met Bobby Brown. He insisted that it was an acceptable part of the music industry in the 1980s. “It was available,” he explained. “It wasn’t a bad word like it is now.”

When asked if he carried the burden of Whitney’s death, he replied “Every day. Every day. It's something I got live with the rest of my life.” He told Oprah, “I’m living, but I’m not alive.”

Those Kelly Clarkson gay rumours have finally been put to bed by none other than Kelly herself. She’s obviously grown tired of people assuming that she’s gay just because she hadn’t been in a relationship for a while, and told Cosmo that she’s “always batted for the boys’ team.” Having said that, it obviously hasn’t put the girls off trying it on with her as she proudly brags that she gets “hit on by the hottest girls ever. Oh, my god, if I were a lesbian, I would be so in luck. But it's just not my thing.”

Of course, anyone that’s been paying any attention whatsoever to Kelly’s life, is probably sat there right now thinking ‘hang on… I thought that Kelly Clarkson was engaged… to a man..?’ Well, yes, she is, but for the purposes of this attention-grabbing news story, it was very important to let you know that she is not a lesbian! Those rumours are still out there, guys and it was important to put them to rest.

Clarkson is, in fact, engaged to Brandon Blackstock and says that he’s “totally the one.” Which is handy, when you are planning to marry someone. Their relationship has managed to survive, despite the fact that their first date was the day Whitney Houston died. A bad omen, apparently.

Whitney Houston died last February amid fairly suspicious circumstances given her young age of just 38. However, as it was well known that she had a problem with drugs, when the coroner concluded that her death was accidental, having been found drowned with a range of drugs in her system, very few thought twice. However, as the Daily Mail reports, a Private Investigator - named Paul Huebl - definitely did think twice, and thinks that the evidence he's brought together "spell[s] homicide, with a big red capital 'H'".

"Whitney's body shows classic defense wounds that would have occurred while she was battling for her life," he told the MailOnline. Although he admitted that the defense wounds could have been caused in other ways, he also added that there was evidence that her hotel room had been 'ransacked' which points towards a 'violent struggle'. Apparently, he's handed all his 'evidence' over to the FBI in Chicago, in the hopes that justice may come to pass. The evidence includes surveillance footage of two unknown men that eventually ingratiated themselves as part of her entourage, he believes them to be the men that may have killed her. 

Huebl is a retired police officer who, since retiring, has become an actor and a private investigator. He claims that a client- that he has not named- hired him to do some snooping around, amid their own fears that 'accidental death' wasn't the whole truth. He's under the assumption that police investigating at the time didn't do a thorough enough job, amid fears of the negative attention it could have brought to that police department. The FBI are yet to make a comment.

Kelly Clarkson was the star of last night’s VH1 Divas show (Sunday December 16, 2012)… or rather her huge engagement ring was!

Clarkson’s partner, Brandon Blackstock proposed last week and the American Idol was looking radiantly happy as she took to the stage for the VH1 show. The Daily Mail have published snaps of the star, in her multi-fabric, figure hugging gown, her “canary yellow” diamond ring taking centre stage as she clutches the microphone stand in front of her.

Kelly joined a number of other female stars for the VH1 show, which was held in aid of the Save the Music foundation, which funds music programmes and has done so for the last decade. Kelly Rowland, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Jordin Sparks were amongst the performers. The event paid tribute to Whitney Houston and Donna Summer, both of whom passed away this year.

A new book detailing the life of Whitney Houston and her rise to stardom is set to be released in the coming weeks, with the latest insight into the late singer's life being titled Whitney Houston: The Voice, the Music, the Inspiration.

The new book is being written by Emmy and Grammy-winning producer Narada Michael Walden, who produced many of Houston's early hits such as 'How Will I Know' and 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody.' Walden appeared at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on Wednesday (Dec 5) where he discussed the book as well as performing a few of the hits he collaborated on with Whitney.

After the show, he told Reuters, "Her death was so shocking and sudden that I wanted to create something to keep alive the beautiful aspects of her life. The media was lashing out on the addiction and ignoring her musical genius."

Heather Headley, you can breathe a sigh of relief. The star of the new stage musical version of Whitney Houston’s crowning moment on the big screen has been spared the wrath of the critics. In fact, it seems that her decision to return to musical theatre after a break of 12 years seem to have been a wise one, as she is described in The Telegraph’s review as being “at least as fine a singer as Houston in her heyday, if not even better.” She looked the part as well, according to Charles Spencer, who noted her “legs that go on forever” as well as the “succession of dazzling, figure hugging costumes” as well as her “sassy stage presence.”

Headley might have side-stepped the criticism, however, but the play itself did not. Michael Billington, for The Guardian, wrote that “although the show is staged with enormous technical efficiency, it is one more example of the necrophiliac musical morbidly attracted to a cinematic corpse.” The central storyline of the play – the relationship between the singer and the bodyguard (played by Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner in the original movie) – is, itself pretty ludicrous, according to Billington, who walked away from the performance having decided “I wouldn't hire this guy [the bodyguard] to supervise a kids' Christmas outing.”

Other phrases bandied about in reference to the new production have ranged from “dross with gloss” (The Telegraph) and “a pumpy, undemanding evening” and all in all, it’s not looking good for this lumpen attempt to cash in on Whitney Houston’s recent death.

One of Whitney Houston’s final recordings has made its way online, ahead of the release of her forthcoming greatest hits album, I Will Always Love You – The Best Of Whitney Houston. 

The new track, entitled ‘Never Give Up,’ begins with a rap (although the identity of the rapper is not revealed on the details of the YouTube video) and is a slow, modern R&B number, a paean to persistence and determination, as Whitney repeats the refrain “never ever give up,” after telling the tale of a single mother studying at law school “so maybe one day / she can make her way in a man’s world / and never be called just another girl.”

Posthumous releases are often hard to critique, as you’ll never really know if this track would have seen the light of day, if it wasn’t for Whitney’s tragic passing earlier this year. Perhaps it would have been re-jigged in the studio, or maybe it would have ended up on the cutting room floor. As it is, this is far from Whitney’s finest moment. The track itself doesn’t do her justice and is almost entirely devoid of melody. You can hear the change in Whitney’s voice, as she’s gotten older and wonder whether or not she would have been able to tackle the type of vocal acrobatics that characterised her earlier work.

The daughter of the late Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina, is to receive $20m from her mother's estate, after reaching the end of a complicated legal battle, Entertainmentwise reports.

Kristina was entangled in legal complications with her grandmother Cissy Houston and her aunt Pat after they attempted to put a stop to the original payment schedule, claiming those close to Bobbi would take advantage of her fortune, but reports suggest that those issues have been resolved, and the young star is set for a windfall. She will receive the money in three segments, more specifically, she can expect three large payments: the first 10 per cent when she turns 21, nearly 20 per cent when she turns 25 and the rest when she hits 30. It was, in fact, revealed soon after Houston's sudden death in February at the age of 48, that Bobbi was the sole beneficiary to her estate.

Currently starring in The Houstons: On Our Own; the show that follows her family around, Bobby is engaged to Nick Gordon, who Whitney took in as a son when he was 12. The pair have had to deny the accusations of wrongdoing, with Nik saying, "Everyone gets it wrong, I was never officially ... it's not incest." But family relatives are not convinced."How do you go from being a brother to being a boyfriend?" Houston's brother Gary says on the reality TV show. "It's a crazy concept."

Almost all reports regarding Bobbi Kristina Brown and her family have largely treated Bobbi Kristina as a silent party, submissive to a point in regard to her family's wishes and coping with her grief in a fairly private, ever so slightly crazy way (getting engaged to her step-brother is certainly grounds for 'slightly crazy'). However, as it turns out Bobbi has been quiet for another reason, namely battling her family for the money that her mother left her in her will. 

The executors of Whitney Houston's will are Pat and Cissy Houston- the sister in law and mother of the late singer, both of whom have contested some stipulations of the will due to fears that the money Bobbi would be receiving at the age of 21 would simply be 'too much too soon' and that the young woman would not be able to handle that kind of responsibility. TMZ have reported that Bobbi has won her case and the wishes of Whitney as set out in her will are set to remain almost entirely unchanged.

Bobbi's engagement to her step-brother Nick Gordon has raised eyebrows, particularly within her family, but the whole family: Bobbi, Pat and Cissy, are all appearing in their new reality TV show The Houstons: On Our Own and perhaps the entire story will be set straight there. Despite Bobbi defending her relationship with Nick, Pat has implied that the engagement has been, or will be, short lived.

Fears surrounding the health and well being of the late Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, after her mother's death, have been loudly vocalised by her family, particularly aunt Pat and grandmother Cissy. Undoubtedly, the fears arise in the light of Houston's difficulty with drugs and her premature death, earlier this year.

In response to their concerns, Pat and Cissy chose to go ahead with court proceedings in an attempt to stop Bobbi Kristina from getting her hands on the massive $20m inheritance left to her by her mother. Grandmother, Cissy Houston is 'deathly afraid'- according to TMZ- that Bobbi Kristina will meet the same tragic end as her mother. The case filed by Cissy and Pat is not to remove the inheritance from Whitney's only daughter, but rather to rearrange the schedule by which it is given to her. It has now been made clear that the court has dismissed the case, as Cissy backs out, and Bobbi will receive the money as was stated in the will. That is, she will receive an estimated $2m at the age of 21, $4m when she turns 25, and the final instalment of $14m at 30. No matter when she gets it, it's a helluva lot of money. 

Bobbi's engagement to her step-brother Nick Gordon has also raised eyebrows, particularly in her family, few of whom are taking it very seriously. Having lost her mother at the age of 18 everyone expected her to run off the rails a little bit, but so far she's doing really well, and she agrees, as she told Access Hollywood, "I'm doing better than I ever thought I would." Whether that's because her family are keeping close tabs on her, or whether her mother has endowed her with good sense doesn't matter, we simply hope she continues doing well- learning all the right lessons from her late mother.

Grieving a loved one is best done, one would think, in privacy, surrounded by family and friends. Unless you're grieving Whitney Houston, in which case it's best to grieve surrounded by family... in front of cameras, and subsequently share that grief with the rest of the world via a television set, as the Houston family star in an unscripted show 'The Houstons: On Our Own'. 

At the tender age of 19, Whitney's daughter Bobby Kristina "Krissy" Brown has been thrust into a tainted limelight, one full of trepidation and judgement, fuelled by her overprotective and 'cold' aunt, Pat Houston who has taken over the role of guardian since Whitney's tragic death earlier this year. With the revelation that Krissy is engaged to her step-brother Nick Gordon, you can understand why alarm bells may be ringing and why Pat would be a little worried. However, in a review of the show, Newsday criticized the show and Pat in particular; "'It's very difficult to deal with her sometimes,' sighs Pat, 'because the world is so involved with what we do.' And how is it, Pat, that a 14-part unscripted series makes that any easier?" A pertinent question indeed.

Many people, including the family, are considering the relationship between Krissy and Nick as incestuous, but the pair assure everyone that it's not. Gordon said "Everyone gets it wrong, I was never officially . . . it's not incest." But again, Pat puts in her two cents saying A lot of teenagers, when they hit 18, they think they're grown. They think they know it all -- they think they know about relationships. You just have to be there to navigate and guide them. You have to hope that their feelings will not get hurt, but they will." As 'On Our Own' progresses and more is revealed about their relationship, audiences will be able to judge for themselves. For now though, let us simply have compassion for a teenager who has been left with a father who may be re-entering rehab having lost her mother, and unable to openly struggle and grieve with a face-full of cameras at every turn.

The Houstons: On Our Own premiered on US TV yesterday (October 24, 2012) and the general consensus seems to be that this simply isn’t a show that needed to be made right now.

Whitney Houston only passed away in February, yet already, the cameras are rolling inside the Houston family home, where her daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, her mother, Cissy Houston and her brother Gary are all mourning her death and dealing with the media attention that has swamped their family like never before.

Singer Bobby Brown was arrested early this morning, Wednesday, October 24th, on the suspicion of a DUI - his second such arrest this year, The Los Angeles Times reports.

Los Angeles Police Department Officer Venus Hall said officers pulled Brown over near the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Corbin Avenue about 1 a.m. and "when they approached him, they smelled the alcohol." It is still unknown if Brown took a Breathalyzer test but Hall said he was booked and released. If the story turns out to be valid, then Brown really should have known better; he was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in March near the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Wilbur Avenue. The police pulled him over for talking on his cellphone but then administered a field sobriety test and arrested him. This earned him three years' informal probation and a day in jail, as well as participation in a 90-day alcohol education program and a $390 fine.

Bobby is, of course, the ex-husband of Whitney Houston, who died in February after an accidental drowning complicated by the effects of heart disease and cocaine, which was found in her system. The couple's relationship was notoriously turbulent, and the two waged public battles with substance abuse before divorcing after 15 years of marriage in 2007.

Bobby Brown was arrested this morning for DUI (driving under the influence), TMZ have reported.

This is not the first time that Brown has been arrested for driving whilst unfit to do so. In fact it’s the second time this year that we are already aware of. According to the report from TMZ, the police pulled Bobby over at around 1am this morning after they spotted him “driving erratically” on a street in Los Angeles.

For many, a new reality TV show that follows the family's every move wouldn't be an ideal way to aid the grieving process after a dramatic death, but for Whitney Houston's family, 'The Houstons: On Our Own' has been a great help.

"The show has kept the family close together, (instead of) isolated from one another. We talk about things, we are very open, and we pay attention to the ones who need consoling the most. Doing the show certainly has helped in a huge way," Pat Houston, Whitney's manager and sister-in-law, told Reuters. "There are preconceptions about the family that just aren't true. We are a strong family, a working family, and a typical family. Our family member just happens to be an icon," she added. "You will see a family that is grieving, that loves one another. You will see a family that is trying to move on."

The reality TV show makes its debut this Wednesday (October, 24) and will set the stage for a November of tributes to the troubled singer, who tragically passed away earlier on in 2012 after drowning in the bathtub, having taken cocaine. Upcoming projects include an official glossy book of photos, a compilation album of Houston's biggest hits that features a new duet version of "I Look To You" with R. Kelly, and the November 16 TV broadcast of a special Grammy tribute starring Jennifer Hudson, Usher and Celine Dion.

The brand new X-Factor judge, Britney Spears, attended a 'solemn' emotional tribute to Whitney Houston entirely organised and funded by the Grammys entitled “We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston” held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles this week. The esteemed guests all chose to not broach the darker sides of Houston's later life, instead opting for a celebratory slant, praising her career and achievements.

There were numerous musical tributes in the show. Usher sang 'I Believe In You and Me' and Cece Winans and Yolanda Adams gave a duet of 'Count on me'. According to NY Daily News, Houston's family broke down in tears at the gospel singers' rendition of the song. Jennifer Hudson opted for more up-beat song choices and went for a medly of How Will I Know, I'm Every Woman and I Wanna Dance With Somebody. Celine Dion was also meant to be performing but unfortunately couldn't make it. She has, however, recorded her own version of 'Greatest Love of All' but it will be included on the hour long show which will be aired on CBS in November.

Spears said that she “admired Whitney” and that it was a cover of Houston's 'I Have Nothing' that ended up winning her a record deal. Halle Berry was another guest at the event whose speech was particularly moving. She spoke of Houston's impact upon women: “She inspired a generation of little girls and women to believe in their own dream and to know that they had within themselves the greatest gift of all... I was one of those little girls who then became a woman who never ever, ever, stopped loving Whitney Houston."

Gordon, 23, was invited by Houston to live with her and Bobbi when he was 12 because his birth mother could not care for him. And considering the late singer never legally adopted him, it’s not that weird. It is a little bit weird though. “No one knew from a godson you would turn into a boyfriend,” Bobbi’s uncle, Gary Houston, says to Gordon in the “On Our Own” clip, posted on Lifetime’s website. “Everybody else doesn’t have to be in my business,” says Gordon. “The family has made me out to be a bad person.” The Houstons: On Our Own premiers October 24th, and follows Houston’s extended family in the wake of the singer’s death last February. “I’m in love with him,” says Bobbi in a clip. “They wanna see us fail,” she says to the camera. “I got one thing to say — you won’t.”

19 year-old Bobbi had been asked countless times in the past whether her controversial love affair was fact or fiction and the teenager had rebuffed the claims on numerous occasions, insisting that they weren’t true. Now it seems that the claims were not only true, but also that the two may have been pretty serious about their relationship.

Last night, a host of stars paid tribute to the late Whitney Houston in a final send-off from the organisers of the annual Grammy Awards. The glittering event, named We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston was led by Hollywood actress Halle Berry and musical tributes came from Jennifer Hudson and Usher amongst others. The music world was shaken by Whitney Houston’s death earlier this year, in a Beverley Hills hotel, on the eve of the Grammys.

Introducing the event, tearfully, Halle Berry said to the audience – who included Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown and former record label boss Clive Davis – “She inspired a generation of little girls and women to believe in their own dream and to know that they had within themselves the greatest gift of all. I was one of those little girls who then became a woman who never ever, ever, stopped loving Whitney Houston.”

The R&B star Usher performed ‘I Believe In You And Me,’ whilst the gospel singers Cece Winans and Yolanda Adams performed ‘Count On Me,’ reducing Whitney’s family members to tears. The X Factor judge Britney Spears shared the experience of how her version of ‘I Have Nothing’ secured her a record deal. Celine Dion was scheduled to perform ‘The Greatest Love Of All’ but was unable to attend, so taped her performance, which was then aired during the event last night. A one-hour version of the show will be aired on CNS on November 16, 2012.

Bobbi originally denied reports of the engagement, after she was shot with a stunning diamond and sapphire ring on her ring finger, but in the trailer for the show she's seen 'professing her love' for Nick Gordon as the Huffington Post puts it.

Gary and Patricia Houston are also seen in the trailer, both of whom are shocked and outraged. Patricia, Whitney's sister in law and manager, said “Engagement? This is unacceptable.” While Gary, clearly bemused said "No one knew that from a godson that you would turn into a boyfriend... No one knew that."

It's been something of a hot topic for the Houston family in recent weeks, and now all could be revealed; is Bobbi Kristina Brown really engaged to her childhood friend Nick Gordon? Aged just 18, Brown caused a shock when, in the wake of her mother Whitney Houston's death, she was seeing kissing and canoodling with Gordon. The pair have since formed a relationship and there are rumours that they're planning to get married.

Now a clip previewing the forthcoming reality show 'The Houstons: On Our Own' shows Brown flashing a sapphire rock that once belonged to her mother, standing next to Gordon and telling her family "we're engaged." So what's the big deal about all this? Well, although not related by blood, Gordon was taken in by the Houston family when Brown was extremely young, and the pair of them have grown up, in effect, as brother and sister together.

This change of affairs that's come out during an extremely tough year for the family, hasn't gone down well with many of Brown's relatives at all. "A lot of teenagers, when they hit 18, they think they're grown," her aunt Pat Houston told ABCNews.com. "They think they know it all, they think they know about relationships. You just have to be there to navigate and guide them." She added, "You have to hope that their feelings will not get hurt, but they will."

The X Factor have got in early with the Whitney Houston tributes, as two female singers both chose to sing ‘I Will Always Love You’ at boot-camp, to prove that they deserve to get through to the next round. Paige Thomas and CeCe Frey went back to back with the same song, but did they both make it through?

Paige Thomas was up first; with her shaved head and Mohican, she’s a dead ringer for Rihanna. As she announces her song choice, the camera pans to Frey, who is shaking her head, discovering that they have chosen the same track. Paige’s rendition was far from perfect, though it had some powerful moments. CeCe looked on, clearly frustrated. When it came to her moment, though, she decided to give it 100 per cent and gave Simon Cowell a flirtatious flick of the hair, meeting him for the first time. Her performance was pretty much note perfect though it’s clear she’s already starting to irritate some of her fellow contestants with her ebullient mannerisms. Oh and the ridiculous temporary leopard print tattoo she wears on her face.

After CeCe had finished, Simon said “one of you actually nailed it,” though he declined to comment which one. We reckon Simon’s a sucker for CeCe’s over-confident ways so we think he favored her. Both got through to the next round, so they’ll be going head to head once more.

Usher, Celine Dion and Jennifer Hudson have all signed up to star in a TV tribute to the late singing icon Whitney Houston. The life and career of the late pop star is to be celebrated in an upcoming one-hour special titled We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute To Whitney Houston.

The show is to be filmed at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on October 11th and is likely to draw a huge swell of support from the music world given the profile that Houston once had. The show will also feature artists sharing their memories of Houston, as well as clips of some of her most memorable performances and never-before-seen footage.

The special is set to air in the US on November 16th, just days after a new greatest hits album is released. That release will be titled I Will Always Love You - the Best of Whitney Houston and will feature two previously unreleased tracks, including Never Give Up, produced by Jermaine Dupri, and an updated version of previous song I Look To You which features R. Kelly. The star infamously drowned in her bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles in February of this year during Grammys weekend.

Bobbi Kristina Brown has been in a nasty car accident with her boyfriend Nick Gordon. Whitney Houston’s daughter was allegedly having an argument with her beau when he was driving their black 2012 Camaro, TMZ reported today (September 26, 2012).

The details of the incident are sketchy so far but the photos obtained by TMZ show the vehicle looking pretty smashed up. There are no current reports of either Bobbi Kristina or Nick being hurt; the airbags were deployed and it seems that he somehow managed to drive the car back to their shared apartment in its damaged state.

The accident happened in Alphretta, Georgia, on Sunday night (September 23, 2012) and no other vehicle is thought to have been involved. The bumper of the car appears to have been torn right off, the front right tire is missing and the wheel badly damaged. The photos do not show the left hand side of the vehicle, so it’s unclear if any damage was done to the driver’s side as well.

Last night’s X Factor auditions were fraught with tension, when one young hopeful’s moment in the spotlight ended in a dramatic tantrum. 21 year-old Krysten Colon’s audition was beset with problems from the offset, despite her telling judges that she was confident she would convince them of her talent. However, as she trembled through her rendition of Adele’s ‘Don’t You Remember?’ she was cut short and Simon explained that he didn’t feel that her personality was shining through.

Krysten, who pronounced her surname ‘cologne’ as opposed to the way it looks as though it may be pronounced, was given a second chance but her take on Whitney Houston’s ‘I Have Nothing’ was marred by the sound of thunder outside the building, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Her confidence still eluded her and she struggled to hit the notes in the challenging Whitney classic. Judge Britney Spears’ face said it all: she grimaced as Krysten struggled through the song. Then, in a stroke of perfect irony, lightning struck the building, causing some of the power to go and putting an abrupt and welcome end to the performance. “There was a reason that happened,” said Simon Cowell. The X Factor judges gave her four ‘no’s.

Krysten then stormed offstage in a flood of tears, which promptly gave way to anger. As a family member said to her “Krysten you said you weren’t going to do this,” she went on and very much did it… She shouted at the family members who had gone to support her and then threw water all over one of The X Factor cameras before running off into the storm, leaving her mum to apologize for her behavior.
