Fans are wondering if the rumoured feud between One Direction and former member Zayn Malik has been reignited.

It comes after Niall Horan released his debut solo singe ‘This Town’ on Thursday and was congratulated by his three bandmates, while Zayn stayed noticeably quiet.

Zayn quit the band last year and ever since there have been rumours of a fall-out between him, Niall, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Harry Styles.

When Niall surprised fans by dropping ‘This Town’, the group’s other three members were quick to offer their congratulations. Louis tweeted: 'Feeling super proud @NiallOfficial . You sound great ! Great to see you at your bday bash!'

Harry then chimed in: 'Ahhh, a lovely tune my friend. Congratulations. H'. While Liam added: 'Good luck boss give him all your support huge day for him proud of you boss (sic)'.

But Zayn stayed quiet, instead choosing to post a selfie on Instagram, showing fans that his trademark beard was no more. Zayn has previously spoken of his unhappiness in the boyband, which led to his shock departure in 2015.

“You know, I did try to do something that I wasn’t happy doing for awhile, for the sake of maybe other people’s happiness. And that was mainly the fans. And I only ever tried to do it for the fans, and it was only ever for them.” he told The Sun.
