ZZ Top are to be honored as living legends by the editors of Classic Rock magazine. The bearded rockers, writers of songs such as Gimme All Your Lovin', follow in some illustrious footsteps indeed, with previous winners of the award including the likes of Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop and Rush, and the band will join them when the Classic Rock Roll of Honor ceremony takes place in London later this year.

Frontman Billy Gibbons told Classic Rock that the band were "excitedly gearing up" for the event, and added, "We've stuck it out long enough to where this once unpredictable style, which has no basis other than oddness, brought us back into vogue." It's not just as past icons that ZZ Top are being revered by the publication for however; the group will also be hoping to grab one of the more current categories after being nominated for Band of The Year. They go up against Black Sabbath, Guns N' Roses, Joe Bonamassa, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Rush for the honor. The annual Classic Rock Roll of Honor bash is to be hosted by former Guns N' Roses star Duff McKagan on November 13th.
