A Place To Bury Strangers interview from Leeds Festival 2009
As forebearers of the much-lauded New York art-noise scene, Brooklyn's A Place To Bury Strangers need no introduction to those bedazzled by loud, reverb-laden guitars and hushed vocal effects. Their eponymous debut album, released eighteen months ago created quite a buzz not just in their homeland but around Europe as well, while their live shows have been described as being among some of the loudest onlookers have ever experienced.
Currently in the middle of a worldwide tour to promote forthcoming album 'Exploding Head', Contactmusic caught up with singer/guitarist Oliver Ackermann at this year's Leeds Festival and found out that his quest for sonic perfection is seemingly never ending, whilst discovering that his Death By Audio effects pedal business continues to go from strength to strength in the process.
