LESLIE CARTER 's sudden death yesterday shocked the pop world, the 25 year-old being part of a family that looked, briefly at the end of the last millennium, like it might have the makings of a pop dynasty - with brothers Nick and Aaron Carter both making waves in their career at the time. Carter was found dead on Tuesday, January 31st, in her home in upstate New York and, following the coroner's report, there's been no clear reason as to her death, with the findings being inconclusive.

A statement released to E! by the coroner of the investigation, RICHARD MACKOWIAK, said "There were no visible signs of trauma," coroner Richard MACkowiak said, "We are awaiting a toxicology report to determine a cause of death." Continuing further he said, "The body has been released to the family. Results of the toxicology test are made public at the discretion of the family." E! reckons that the results of that toxicology report will be known in roughly four to six weeks.

Carter's pop career was only ever fleetingly high profile, gaining a number 99 US Chart Single hit in 2001, the subsequent album never being released by her record label DreamWorks. She persisted however, touring in 2005 and 2006 and playing in a band called THE OTHER HALF for three years until 2009. She leaves behind husband MIKE ASHTON and their nine month-old daughter ALYSSA JANE, as well as her parents and four siblings.
