Aaron Taylor-Johnson often forgets that his wife is 23 years older than him.

The 23-year-old actor caused controversy when he married 47-year-old director Sam Taylor-Wood in 2012, but he insists she has a ''young, beautiful soul.''

Speaking about their age difference, the 'Kick-Ass 2' star told the US edition of Men's Health magazine: ''It doesn't seem like it. She's such a young, beautiful soul that you wouldn't even know.''

The couple have two daughters, Wylda, three, and two-year-old Romy together, and Aaron credits the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' filmmaker for helping him to turn his life around after they met on the set of 'Nowhere Boy' in 2009.

He said: ''My life just totally flipped over. It went from a really bad place to, you know... Everything in my life before them was an escape. I went from one job to the next, film after film, just trying to escape.''

The British heartthrob is in tip-top shape after training twice a day for his upcoming movie 'Godzilla.'

He previously said: ''I train twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. An hour and a half each session. Six days a week. When you start filming, it's f**king tricky. You have to get up at five in the morning to slip in an hour.

''Jim Beaver has worked on a lot of army movies, from 'Black Hawk Down' to 'Battle: Los Angeles.' He's been a marine since he was a kid. He trained me on how to use weapons, wear the gear, the military mind-set... I touch base with him every day. The role is physically demanding - I'm in helicopters, trucks, trains; we're moving giant missiles, stuff like that.''
