Abbey Clancy is set to return to ‘Britain's Next Top Model’, the show which first made her famous nearly a decade ago. Clancy will appear as a judge on the relaunched series, which is being brought back to UK screens on the Lifetime Channel.

In 2006 Clancy was the running up in the modelling competition, which saw Lianna Fowler take the crown in the finale. Clancy then went on to model in a number of high profile fashion campaigns and find larger tabloid fame through her marriage to footballer Peter Crouch.

Speaking about the role Clancy said, “Britain’s Next Top Model is a show very close to my heart as it's where I started my career so I am thrilled to be returning as head judge."

"We have an incredible team working on this series and I can’t wait to bring my own spin to the show. Lifetime viewers should expect more drama and style than ever before, and the girls better be ready to bring their A game!” the model added.

Joining Abbey on the judging panel will be top male model Paul Sculfor, fashion direction Hilary Alexander OBE and celebrity photographer Nicky Johnston.

‘Britains Next Top Model’ is due to begin filming in September and should hit UK screens early next year. The series, which is a spin-off of ‘America’s Next Top Model’, first aired on Living TV in the UK for eight seasons before being axed in 2013.
