Adam Levine once paid a fan's rent after they threw the bill on stage.

The Maroon 5 singer has revealed his generosity after paying around £300 for a fan after their bill was cheekily thrown at him during a concert, and while he was charitable on that occasion, he described it as ''cheeky''.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: ''It was like a rent cheque and I took it and I just paid it, honestly.

''It was really creepy, though! Please don't do that anymore it was $487.''

Meanwhile, the 'Payphone' hitmaker admitted singer-songwriter Graham Nash once helped out his band when they had just lost their record around 15 years ago, and he was delighted when he was able to pay him back.

He said: ''We are family friends and when i was 19 or 20 Graham asked what was going on as we'd lost our record deal.

''So he said, 'Let me put you in the studio and do a demo, and that was what got us signed again.

''That's the best cheque I've ever had to write ... And I sent him a platinum record.''
