Adele's glittering awards cabinet of accolades has grown larger after she was awarded with an MBE for her services to music today. The singer looked the picture of pride and elegance as she stepped up to receive her medal from Prince Charles wearing a festive green dress and a black fascinator.

The 25 year-old's career has reached terrific heights after last year's Oscars and Grammys win for her James Bond soundtrack song, 'Skyfall.' In just a few years, the BRIT school alum has undergone a transformation from teen pop star to soulful starlet, basking in the glow of her tremendous worldwide fame.

Though Adele hasn't spoken publically about her MBE, or Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, photographs show the star beaming with pride as she is greeted by the Prince of Wales and afterwards as she posed with her enviable medal.

Adele's tender songs of heart-break, love and relationships have struck a chord with listeners all over the world and she enjoyed the longest run ever by a woman at the top of the UK album charts as well as the unique achievement of being the first woman to have two singles and two albums in the UK top five at the same time.

It has been a remarkable few years for the mother-of-one as she has felt the transformative effects of global stardom though has managed to find time to start a family. She gave birth to her baby son last year with her partner Simon Konecki and won a record six Grammy awards in the US in 2012 too.
