Adele may have walked away from the Grammys with a clutch of awards at the start of the year but by golly, she’s ended it on an enviable high, having been awarded what could only be described as the greatest accolade in the history of music. That’s right, Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, your song, ‘Someone Like You’ has been named the most popular karaoke song with British revellers.

The results – as reported by Gigwise.com – have been compiled by the Lucky Voice karaoke website, which also has a number of karaoke bars around the UK. 7% of all users of the website chose to sing ‘Someone Like You.’ To put that in context, the site has around 200,000. having said that, we’ve seen enough early rounds of X Factor to know that few people can pull off a version of ‘Someone Like You’ quite like Adele herself but it must be heart-warming for the 24 year-old to know that her song’s so popular amongst the warbling wannabees.

Frankly, even an amateur version of ‘Someone Like You’ is more appealing to us than anyone singing the second most popular song, Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ (and yes, we’re including Carly Rae Jepsen in that statement, too. One Direction’s ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ is third on the popularity list and Adele pops up again in fourth place with ‘Rolling In The Deep.’
