James Corden’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’ segment from the ‘Late Late Show’ never fails to disappoint, but this week he truly brought out the big guns when he was joined by Adele for an in-car sing-a-long. While Adele belted out some of her own classic hits, what was even more impressive was how good she proved to be at rapping and showing her girl power.
During the journey Adele spoke about being a huge Spice Girls fan back in the day (weren’t we all), adding, ‘It was a huge moment in my life when they came out. It was girl power, and it was these five ordinary girls who did so well and got out.”
“I was like, I want to get out. It was a really important period of my life.” Corden then decided to put on the Spice Girl’s hit ‘Wannabe’ while Adele sang along and even did the rap. Sharing a video of Adele’s ‘Wannabe’ Victoria Beckham tweeted, ‘HUGE Adele fan!! This is GENIUS!!!’
‘Thank u @adele and @jkcorden #Ilovemyspicegirls,’ she added, before signing off ‘X posh’ instead of her usual ‘X vb’. Along with showing some love for the Spice Girls, Adele also revealed her impressive hidden talent, it turns out she's also quite the rapper.
Adele demonstrated her skills by rapping along to Nicki Minaj’s verse on Kanye West’s ‘Monster’, impressing even Minaj herself. ‘Adele is mad ratchet. I can't take her #UK #WutsGood,’ Minaj tweeted.
Later on Facebook she added, ‘Pull thru, QUEEN! ?#?Adele? ?#?Monster? the attitude & fingers to match. ?#?Oh? ?#?Ok? ?#?IcoNic? I cried when she waved bye to the careers ?#?Hello? ?#?BuhBye?.’
