Aerosmith guitarist BRAD WHITFORD is to rejoin his bandmates on tour next month (Jul09) after a head injury forced him to sit out the first few dates.
Whitford suffered internal bleeding after hitting his head while getting out of his Ferrari sportscar a week before the band's live dates kicked off last Wednesday (10Jun09) in St. Louis, Missouri.
The star underwent surgery and was advised to drop out of the Aerosmith tour to allow him sufficient recovery time. He was replaced by former Green Day and Weezer rocker Bobby Schneck.
Whitford's bandmate Joe Perry tells Reuters, "It built up pressure and gave him this whoopin' headache. He's not prone to getting migraines, so knew something was wrong. He went right in, they did what they had to do, and now he's getting better."
But the guitarist is adamant he will return to the stage to perform the second half of the band's Aerosmith's Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Presents shows. He hopes to be back playing with the rockers for their concert on 7 July (09) in Raleigh, North Carolina.
