Rapper Afroman has retired from performing live after he clashed with a female fan onstage last week (ends22Feb15).

The Because I Got High hitmaker was arrested for allegedly punching the woman as she climbed onstage and approached him while he was performing in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Afroman, real name Joseph Edgar Foreman, publicly apologised for his behaviour, cancelled the reminder of his U.S. tour dates, and has signed up for anger management courses, which begin on Friday (27Feb15).

He has now written a lengthy Facebook.com message to say sorry to the fan once more, blaming increasing financial pressures and onstage security issues for his outburst.

He has now decided to quit touring permanently, writing, "I no longer have the desire to perform for people. I will continue to record I will continue to make albums I will continue to make videos I will continue to make movies.

"They asked my youngest daughter last year what she wanted for Christmas and she said my daddy home every day. On that note I happily retire. I love rapping I love my fans but I love my kids and my family more. It's been a blast. Thank you."

Afroman is reportedly facing legal action from the 21-year-old woman.
