Aidan TurnerAidan Turner will be keeping his clothes on for Poldark series two.

“Unfortunately autumn is very chilly in Cornwall, so he won’t be doing any in that,” Horsfield said. The writer added that last year’s filming took place during Cornwall’s “best summer in living memory”, while series two began filming last autumn and has only just wrapped.

Speaking during a Royal Television Society event in London which examined what made the show a hit, Horsfield reflected on the uproar the shirtless pics of Turner had caused last year, before the series even began airing.

"I don’t think any of us thought [of the image of Turner scything] ‘Wow that’s going to be in every newspaper for the next year.’” The second series of the drama is expected to begin airing in the autumn and will introduce new characters.
