Aimee Mann makes her return to music with new side project The Both, featuring Ted Leo of Ted Leo and The Pharmacists, promoting their self-titled debut album with her annual Christmas variety show.

Aimee Mann And Ted Leo unite for Christmas dates

The Boston-based rock singer is back on the road this December celebrating the release of new album 'The Both', released in April this year through her own SuperEgo Records following the formation of her duet project in 2013. As well as bringing along her latest musical partner Ted Leo, Aimee Mann will be hitting US stages with a variety of support acts which also includes comedians. Her sell-out festive shows have previously played host to the likes of John C. Reilly, Jeff Goldblum, Zooey Deschanel, Will Ferrell, Nellie McKay among others.

It's the perfect way to celebrate forthcoming 2014 festivities and will also mark an exciting introduction to The Both as an official duo, with the pair having previously toured together back in 2012. Their album release earlier this year became a huge hit with critics, with production courtesy of Mann's bandmate Paul Bryan (who has previously recorded albums with Norah Jones, Sam Phillips and Mavis Staples).

Aimee Mann's last release was the well-received 'Charmer' in 2012, featuring an appearance from James Mercer of The Shins, while Ted Leo's last album dates back to 2010 with 'The Brutalist Bricks'. As well as the Christmas dates, The Both will be making appearances at the Sound of Out Town Festival in Boston and Modern Sky Festival Central Park in October.
