Singer/songwriter Aimee Mann has settled her multi-million dollar lawsuit over digital song royalties after an 18-month legal battle.

The Save Me star filed papers in California's federal court in 2013, amid allegations bosses at MediaNet, which provides over 22 million tracks to online music services such as Yahoo Music and Playlist.com, do not own the rights to around 120 of her songs, which they reportedly offer for streaming on the Internet.

She claimed MediaNet executives' actions cost her big in lost royalties and she demanded up to $18 million (£12 million) in damages.

However, Mann has since reached a confidential agreement with MediaNet chiefs and has now announced the dispute has been resolved.

A statement released by the singer reads: "MediaNet and I have resolved our differences, and I feel confident that they are making every effort to license their content correctly in a way that protects the rights of artists and songwriters.

"I've therefore agreed to put my music back on their service."
