The Good Wife star, who boasts more than 100,000 followers on the photosharing site, took to Twitter.com on Friday (01May15) to inform Instagram bosses that a cyber prankster had infiltrated his profile.

The hacker edited the star's account by changing his handle and swapping his profile picture to the image of an unidentified man.

Cumming writes, "Hey @instagram my account has been hacked. I am @Alancummingsnaps on Instagram and someone has taken it over and renamed it."

The account has since been taken offline.
