Fact: Country music legend Garth Brooks paid tribute to members of America's military by performing his song All-American Kid during the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night (19Apr15). During his set, men and women of the armed forces filled the aisles of the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, as the audience gave them a standing ovation. Meanwhile, fellow music veteran Alan Jackson honoured the lives lost during the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing on the 20th anniversary of the attacks, with a touching rendition of his song, Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning).

Fact: Alan Jackson has landed a street name honour in Australia to mark his first gig in the nation's country musical capital, Tamworth, in October (13). A road in the city will be renamed Alan Jackson Boulevard for a day in honour of the singer's visit.
