The actors launched an online campaign on to raise funds to make three episodes of an online show titled Con Man, which is loosely based on their experiences with sci-fi series Firefly, on Tuesday (10Mar15).

The duo's goal of reaching $450,000 (£300,000) was achieved within hours and by Wednesday (11Mar15), the amount had almost tripled, crossing the $1 million mark and making the campaign the all-time highest funded web series across all crowdfunding platforms.

Tudyk and Fillion's show will focus on two former sci-fi TV co-stars enjoying different levels of success after their programme is cancelled - one becomes a huge star, while the other scrapes an existence by attending sci-fi conventions. Tudyk will also write and direct the series.
