Alec Baldwin Donald Trump

This week the President has been embroiled in issues regarding gun laws and trade issues, so surely that's what he's going to be posting on social media, right? Wrong. Instead, it seems his first job of the morning is to attack Alec Baldwin. Again. Well, you can't say he's not entertaining.

Before he'd apparently opened his eyes this morning (as the spelling errors suggest), Donald Trump was ranting on Twitter about 'Saturday Night Live' star Alec Baldwin's unflattering (but accurate) impressions of him, and how the comedian finds it a weekly struggle to impersonate the US President.

Alec Baldwin Says Doing His Donald Trump Impression Is "Agony"

Alec Baldwin Donald Trump

Although his impersonations of Donald Trump for ‘Saturday Night Live’ continue to be a ratings hit after well over a year, Alec Baldwin has admitted that lampooning the president is becoming “agony”.

When Baldwin first unveiled his incredibly popular take on Trump in the fall of 2016, he was only supposed to be a guest performer on ‘SNL’. However, when the Republican candidate took the industry by surprise by actually winning the presidency, the actor was then invited back to become a regular fixture on the sketch show.

However, it sounds like Baldwin is now beginning to get frustrated at having to continue doing his impression. “Every time I do it now, it's like agony. Agony. I can't,” the 59 year old told The Hollywood Reporter.

Alec Baldwin Takes On Trump Once More With SNL 'Hallelujah' Performance

Alec Baldwin

For a few months now, Alec Baldwin has been taking President Donald Trump to task in comedy sketches for 'Saturday Night Live'. In a brand new skit for the show, Baldwin took on the role of the 45th President of the United States of America once more, singing 'Hallelujah' alongside Kate McKinnon as Kellyanne Conway, Beck Bennett as Mike Pence, Alex Moffat as Eric Trump, Mikey Day as Donald Trump Jr., Aidy Bryant as Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Cecily Strong as Melania Trump and Scarlett Johansson as Ivanka Trump. You can check out the hilarious results below:

The sing-song was an homage to a previous sketch, where cast member Kate McKinnon had taken on the role of defeated Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, sitting at a piano and singing the Leonard Cohen song 'Hallelujah', just days after Cohen had passed away.

The Boss Baby Review

Very Good

There isn't a lot of subtlety in this madcap animated comedy, which is more aimed at nostalgic adults than young kids who will miss the rapid-fire movie references. But it's also silly and busy, and cute enough to make everyone in the audience sigh a few times. And it's anchored by a terrific vocal performance from Alec Baldwin that channels his infantile Donald Trump impersonation to hilarious effect.

The story is told through the eyes of a creative 7-year-old named Tim (Tobey Maguire as the film's narrator, Miles Bakshi as the character), who has enjoyed growing up as the only child of his playful, loving parents (Lisa Kudrow and Jimmy Kimmel). Then a little baby brother (Alec Baldwin) arrives, and Tim discovers that he can walk and talk, and also that he's the CEO of Baby Corp, sent on a secret mission to spy on Puppyco, where Tim's parents work. Apparently, puppies are becoming more popular than babies, and now the Puppyco boss (Steve Buscemi) is preparing to launch a breed of puppy that will forever steal the love of parents from their children. In a panic, Tim teams up with the Boss Baby to get rid of him for good.

It's clear to grown-ups in the audience that all of this is happening in Tim's wildly imaginative head, which kind of eliminates any tension in the crazed action mayhem that follows. Younger viewers may find the premise itself rather baffling, but will enjoy the hyperactive pacing and snappy dialogue. The only problem with this is that it means that the movie remains resolutely superficial, touching on big issues like sibling rivalry and corporate greed without ever dealing with them. And it presents a baby as an aggressive invader, which may be how it sometimes feels to an older sibling, even if we know better.
