A woman accused of stalking Alec Baldwin has been found guilty and sentenced to 210 days in jail.
French Canadian actress Genevieve Sabourin was convicted on five counts of harassment and stalking on Thursday (14Nov13), after bombarding the 55-year-old actor with emails and voicemails and making unwelcome visits to his New York homes after enjoying a meal with him in 2010.
During the trial, Baldwin denied Sabourin's claims that they had been engaged in a sexual relationship and described her pestering as "nightmarish" as he broke down on the stand.
The hearings at Manhattan Criminal Court took a turn on Wednesday (13Nov13) after Judge Robert Mandelbaum ordered Sabourin to spend 30 days behind bars for contempt of court following her loud outbursts throughout Tuesday's proceedings, during which she called Baldwin a liar as he recounted the terror he suffered as a result of the actress' relentless harassment.
She was brought back into court on Thursday for the verdict and sobbed as her conviction and punishment was read out by Judge Mandelbaum.
He also ordered Sabourin stay away from Baldwin and his wife Hilaria after her release.
The actor was not in court for Thursday's ruling.
