The saying "life begins at 50" couldn’t ring truer for Alec Baldwin, who is just now, at 54, having a baby with his second wife, Hilaria (28).

Amidst all of the baby news going around Hollywood this week, the pair had an announcement of their own. Baby Baldwin will be a girl, not a boy, as was first announced. This means the name Massimo, which the couple was initially set on, is out of the window. It also means that with his wife, a baby girl and two female dogs, the 30 Rock star will be heavily outnumbered, as he himself joked.

The dad-to-be won’t have anything to worry about on that front for a while though, as the baby isn’t due until late in the summer. This will be Baldwin’s second child, the first one being his 17-year-old daughter Ireland, from ex-wife Kim Basinger. Baldwin has certainly had his share of struggles with parenthood, at one point calling the then 11-year-old Ireland a “thoughtless, selfish little pig” in a phone conversation, but both he and Ireland have put the incident behind them and the family is ready to welcome the new baby. As for Baldwin’s relationship with Hilaria, looks like it’s all coming up roses there too. We here at Contactmusic would like to wish the couple an easy pregnancy and a happy and healthy baby girl.
