'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' screenwriters Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinker will all return to write the third film, due for release in 2016.
'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' writers will pen the third film in the series.
Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinker have all signed on to write the next movie in the web-slinging superhero franchise, which is scheduled for release in June 2016.
The trio shared writing credits on next year's 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2', which will see Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man come face-to-face with a new villain in Jamie Foxx's Electro, as well as Paul Giamatti's Rhino. The film also introduces Peter Parker's best friend-turned-enemy Harry Osborn, to be played by Dane DeHaan.
In June, Sony Pictures announced two more films in its 'Amazing Spider-Man' series - with a third film due in 2016, and a fourth in May 2018.
It's not known if director Marc Webb, who helmed the first two movies, will return for the next flick, but it is hoped he will sign on.
Kurtzman and Orci are prolific for their big budget screenplays, having previously worked on 'Lost' and the recent 'Star Trek' movies. The duo will have to squeeze the new movie into their busy schedule, which also includes penning the third 'Star Trek' and producing a reboot of 'The Mummy' franchise for Universal.
'The Amazing Spider-Man' franchise also features actresses Emma Stone and Sally Field, while Shailene Woodley was briefly cast in the sequel as Spider-Man's future girlfriend Mary Jane Watson, but later had her role axed.
